Eligibility The Faculty of Graduate Studies will fund the second year of a Master's student who held a Tri-Council CGSM award in the first year of their Master's program. The award will be valued at the same rate as the UMGF master's award, effective for the 2025-2026 academic year. This award program is subject to the availability of funds from the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

The University of Manitoba Tri-Council Master's Supplement Award will be offered to graduate students who:
  • were new recipients of a Tri-Council CGSM award offered through one of the following programs: CIHR Canada Graduate Scholarships Master's, NSERC Canada Graduate Scholarships Master's, and SSHRC Canada Graduate Scholarships Master's Programs; and


  • have not received funding equal to or greater than the value of this award in the second year of their Master's program.

No application is required; if eligible, recipients are first notified on their original Tri-Agency CGSM offer letter sent by the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Recipients will also receive an official TMSA offer letter in April/May of each year which will include instructions on how to activate their TMSA award.
