Eligibility The Senior Women Academic Administrators of Canada will provide at least four awards annually, in the amount of $4,000 each, to the women graduate students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in the university community while maintaining exemplary academic records.

Women registered in Master's or PhD programs at the University of Manitoba are eligible to be nominated by the U of M.

Criteria as given by the Senior Women Academic Administrators of Canada are as follows:

1. Outstanding academic performance;

2. Evidence of leadership including but not limited to such things as:
- executive positions in student organizations;
- participating on committees (student committees and university committees);
- organization of special events, conferences, etc.;
- involvement in advocacy groups;
- involvement in volunteer organizations, within the campus setting and/or in the general community.
All application packages must be submitted as a single pdf file.

Value Minimum of three awards valued at $4,000 given each year - note this is a Canada wide competition.

Tenable at Tenable at the University of Manitoba in the 2024 year.

Application Details Each Faculty/Unit may nominate one female Master’s or Doctoral student for the Senior Women Academic Administrators of Canada competition. Nomination must be submitted to the Faculty of Graduate Studies on or before the deadline and is to include:

- Letter of nomination from the Faculty/Unit;

- the student's curriculum vitae;

- three (3) letters of reference;

- a 1-2 page statement of interest and achievements from the student that includes information about their former and current studies, areas of interest, research, publications, other awards, interests outside the university, and community or volunteer work. It is an opportunity for the nominee to tell the adjudication committee some things about herself, and to explain in greater length her background/interests/passions/ambitions/volunteer work.

The selection committee will include the Dean and Associate Dean(s) of the Faculty of Graduate Studies. The Dean shall act as Chair.

Please check with your faculty/unit if you are interested in being nominated for this scholarship. The deadline for faculties and units to have their nominations to FGS is December 15th, 2023, however the deadline by which a faculty/unit wants to have nominations submitted to them will most likely be earlier. Please check with your faculty/unit for their submission deadline.
