Eligibility The LGCA is committed to supporting high-quality, innovative research linked to our regulatory mandate. We offer scholarships for graduate students who are conducting liquor, cannabis or gambling research at Manitoba universities.

Scholarships are available on a competitive basis to full-time graduate students at post-secondary institutions in Manitoba who are engaged in or about to embark on the research portion of their thesis or dissertation. Students may be from any discipline, provided that their research is related to the LGCAís broad regulatory mandate.
Value Scholarships are valued at $2,500 for masterís students and $10,000 for doctoral students.

Application Details Scholarships are intended to support students during the time they are conducting their graduate research. They are not research grants and are not to be used to fund administrative or operational costs of research projects.

Students apply to receive funding that starts in the winter term (January) of the academic year. Fifty percent (50%) of the funding will be disbursed immediately following the winter term withdrawal deadline at the studentís post-secondary institution. The balance will be disbursed immediately following the next termís withdrawal deadline. Funds will be issued directly by the LGCA in the form of a cheque.
