Eligibility	The Dr. Patricia Martens Memorial Travel Award has been established through gifts made by friends and family. The purpose of the fund is to provide travel support for graduate students at the University of Manitoba who will be presenting their work at the Canadian Public Health Association (CPHA) annual conference. Each year, beginning in 2020-2021, the available annual income from the fund will be used to offer one or more travel awards to graduate students who: (1) are enrolled full-time in the Faculty of Graduate Studies in a Masters or Doctoral program; (2) have achieved a minimum grade point average of 3.5 based on the last 60 credit hours (or equivalent) of study; and ,BR> (3) are attending the Canadian Public Health Association Annual Conference. Candidates will be required to submit a short essay (maximum 250 words) outlining why they would like to attend the conference. Preference will be given to those students presenting a paper at the Canadian Public Health Association Annual Conference. The award recipient must submit receipts for travel, registration, hotel and/or food expenses (based on current University of Manitoba per diem rates). Expenses will be reimbursed up to the maximum value of the recipient’s award.
Value	The selection committee will have the discretion to determine the number and value of awards offered each year based on the available annual income.
