Eligibility In memory of Jacquelynn Garcia, her friends and family established an annual scholarship at the University of Manitoba to encourage and stimulate graduate student interest in research activity in nutraceuticals. Each year, beginning in 2020-2021, one scholarship of $2,500 will be awarded to a graduate student who:

(1) is enrolled full-time in the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, in the first or second year of a Master’s program;

(2) has achieved a minimum grade point average of 3.5 based on the last 60 credit hours (or equivalent) of study;

(3) is conducting or has proposed to conduct research in the area of nutraceuticals.

Preference will be given to a student who is proposing research in nutraceuticals and their effects on cancer.
Value $2500
Currency Canadian
Tenable at 2025-2026 academic year. Must be registered UM FGPS Master's program in both Fall 2025 & Winter 2026 to be eligible.

Applicants will be required to submit:

(i) a description of the proposed research and a statement of its practical applicability and relevance to nutraceuticals (maximum 500 words),

(ii) a current curriculum vitae

(iii) an official transcript, and

(iv) a letter of reference from the graduate advisor or proposed graduate advisor.
