Aftab and Zehra Mufti established an annually funded scholarship at the University of Manitoba in 2024. The purpose of the fund is to reward the academic achievements of a graduate student in the Price Faculty of Engineering who is conducting research in the field of Civil Structural Health Monitoring. Each year, beginning in 2025-2026, one scholarship valued at $5000 will be offered to a graduate student who:
(1) is enrolled full-time in the Faculty of Graduate Studies in their first or second year of study in any master's or doctoral program in the Price Faculty of Engineering;
(2) has achieved a minimum grade point average of 3.5 over the two full academic years prior to the session in which the scholarship is tenable; and
(3) is conducting research in the field of Civil Structural Health Monitoring, Modelling of Intelligent Civil Infrastructures, or Civionics.
The recipient will be selected based on academic excellence, commitment to their field of study, the quality and value of their research proposal, and their career objectives.

| Application Details |
To be considered for the scholarship, students must submit an application to the Price Faculty of Engineering that includes:
(i) a cover letter (maximum 500 words) that addresses their commitment to their field of study and outlines their career objectives,
(ii) a written statement (maximum 500 words) describing their proposed or ongoing research,
(iii) a current curriculum vitae,
(iv) a current transcript, and
(v) two academic letters of reference.
The recipient will be selected based on academic excellence, commitment to their field of study, the quality and value of their research proposal, and their career objectives.
The Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies (or designate) will ask the Chair of the Graduate Awards Committee of the Price Faculty of Engineering to name the selection committee for this award.
This agreement may be amended by the mutual consent of the donor (or designate) and the University of Manitoba. All such amendments shall be in writing. In the absence of the donor (or designate), and providing all reasonable efforts have been made to consult, the Board of Governors of the University of Manitoba has the right to modify the terms of this award if, because of changed conditions, it becomes necessary to do so. Such modification shall conform as closely as possible to the expressed intention of the donor in establishing the award.
