Section 4: Taking Courses Extra to Degree, and Repeating or
Substituting Previously Passed Courses
Beginning Wednesday, August 14, 2002, students who have completed the "Options" component of their degree may register for extra Options, and students who have completed the "Elective" component of their degree may register for extra Electives. Such extra courses must be taken as a "Special Student." Courses taken as a Special Student are not calculated in the student’s grade point average or credit hours.
Beginning Friday, August 16, 2002, students may register to repeat or substitute previously passed courses. For information regarding the maximum number of repeats and substitutions permitted, see the Asper School of Business chapter of the Undergraduate Calendar.
Students who register for a course extra to their degree and/or a substitute course must advise a student advisor that they have added such a course prior to the end of the revision period of the term in which the course is taken (telephone: (204) 474-6388).
Students graduating in February 2003 or May 2003: The Telephone Registration System blocks students from registering for more than the total number of credit hours required for the B.Comm.(Hons.) degree. Therefore, if you wish to repeat, substitute, or take courses extra to your degree, you should contact a student advisor prior to Wednesday, August 14 (telephone: (204) 474-6388). The advisor will ensure the registration block is removed so you can register for additional credit hours on Wednesday, August 14 and/or Friday, August 16
Students who have successfully completed all requirements of the Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree may NOT register in subsequent terms as students in the Asper School of Business. Such students must apply for admission to another Faculty or School if they wish to take additional courses.
