Important Dates

See the Academic Schedule in the Undergraduate Calendar and Graduate Calendar as well as the chapter for your faculty or school for other dates that apply to you.

2002 First Term
August 26 First day of classes for fourth-year Pharmacy.
September 3 and 4 University 1 Orientation (compulsory for all University 1 students).
September 3 First day of classes for Law
September 4 Last date for first term fee payment without financial penalty (September 13 for Agriculture Diploma students).
September 5 First day of classes for most faculties and schools.*
September 5 - 18 Registration revision period (September 16-25 for Agriculture Diploma)
September 16 First day of classes for Agriculture Diploma
October 14 Thanksgiving Day Holiday: No Classes.
November 11 Remembrance Day: No Classes.
November 13 Last date for voluntary withdrawal from first term half-courses. The telephone registration system (UMREG) closes at 5:30 p.m. Some faculties have courses with irregular withdrawal dates; see your faculty general office for information.
December 4 Classes end in most faculties and schools (November 29 for Agriculture Diploma
December 6 Final examinations begin (December 2 for Agriculture Diploma). Students must remain available until all exami nation obligations have been fulfilled.
December 19 End of final examinations and first term. (December 9 for Agriculture diploma.
December 23 University closed for Christmas-New Year’s holiday period.
2003 Second Term
January 2 University re-opens
January 6 Classes resume in most faculties and schools.
January 6 - 17 Registration revision period for second term half courses (January 16 for Agriculture Diploma)
January 17 Last date for second term fee payment
February 17 - 21 Mid-Term break: No classes or examinations in most faculties and schools.
March 19 Last day for voluntary withdrawal from all full courses and second term half courses (March 7 for Agriculture diploma). The telephone registration system (UMREG) closes at 5:30 p.m. Some faculties have courses with irregular withdrawal dates, see your faculty general office for information.
April 11 Classes end in most faculties and schools (March 25 for Agriculture diploma).
April 12 Final Examinations begin in most faculties and schools (March 26 for Agriculture diploma). Students must remain available until all examination obligations have been fulfilled.
April 18 Good Friday Holiday: No classes or examinations.
April 30 End of final examinations and second term for most faculties and schools (April 3 for Agriculture diploma).
* Note:
Medicine, Dentistry, Medical Rehabilitation, and Dental Hygiene students should consult their registration material for starting dates.
