3. Creating or Modifying Your PIN
When you access the telephone registration system you will be asked for your PIN.
If it is your first call, your numeric birthdate (yy/mm/dd) is your temporary PIN. The system will then prompt you for a new number to protect your security. Make up any six-digit number which is different from your birthdate. Enter your new PIN when the system prompts you to do so.
If you have previously used UMREG, enter the PIN you used the last time.
If you want to change your PIN, you may do so by following the modification instructions when you enter 6 #.
It is important to memorize your PIN number!
If you can't remember, call (204) 474-9420 8:30 to 4:30 Monday-Friday
4. Attendance at Another University or College
A University of Manitoba student who wishes to attend another post-secondary institution must obtain a Letter of Permission from the Student Records Office. Before you are allowed into the course and program request area of UMREG, you will be asked if you have attended another university or college since your last registration at the U of M. If you answer "yes" by entering 1 # you will be required to indicate whether you did so on a Letter of Permission from the University of Manitoba.
5. Declaring or changing your Major or Minor
Information on Majors and Minors and how you declare or change your choice is described in the chapter relating to your faculty or school that is part of this Guide.
6. Modifying College of Membership
If you are changing your college, use the Modify request, 6 #, and follow the prompts, selecting the change of college membership when presented. You will first be asked to enter the code for your previous college, and then for your new college. College Membership fees apply.
