    Friends and colleagues have established an endowment fund to support an annual graduate fellowship at the University of Manitoba in honour of Mr. G. Clarence Elliott, retired, VP and Treasurer of The Great-West Life Assurance Company. The fellowship shall be awarded to a full-time graduate student in either a master's or doctoral program. Students in the following departments are to be considered eligible: Agricultural Economics (Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences), Architecture (Faculty of Architecture), Business Administration/Management (I.H. Asper School of Business), City Planning (Faculty of Architecture), Economics (Faculty of Arts), and Statistics (Faculty of Science). Preference may be given to a student who grew up in a geographical area outside a principal city and financial need may also be a factor especially when other factors are judged to be substantially equal. The award is not renewable though previous recipients may reapply in a subsequent year subject to a satisfactory progress report from the recipient's advisor and department (including a GPA of at least 3.0) This scholarship may not be awarded every year depending on the amount available in the account. Annual recipients will be invited to a congratulatory dinner and will be presented with certificates at the event.
  • Value 70% of annual interest earned on fund up to a maximum of $10,000.00

    Tenable at The University of Manitoba for the 2022 -2023 academic year. This award requires that you intend to register full time in both Fall 2022 and Winter 2023 terms of the 2022-2023 academic year to be eligible.
